Jerry’s Market, an icon in the West End, has shut its doors, but could there be something on the horizon for this property? With the anticipation of Esther Simplot Park opening, in addition to many other positive developments within the West End, one has to wonder if something is in the planning stages for this great corner. As one of the nation’s fastest growing community colleges since its inception, CWI is investigating how to best handle the demand for educational services. Part of this plan is likely to include expansion on its current campus in Canyon County and also ideas on how to best grow an Ada County campus. In the next several months we will be learning more on how CWI plans to finance its growth and become a catalyst for further development within the West End.
The City of Boise sees the great benefits of downtown housing, and Adare Manor plans to bring an additional 120 units to our downtown. This 2.5 acre project is planned to be a mixed income development and will be at 24th Street and Fairview Avenue. Two years ago the Main & Fairview corridor had about 29 acres of vacant land ready for development, and with this most recent announcement, only 10 acres remain with no development plans.
